Congratulations to North Shore Rhythmics gymnasts, who earned 11 medals at the U.S Rhythmic Championships! Laura Zeng became the junior national champion and junior hoop champion, and Jazzy Kerber became the senior hoop champion and finished second overall among gymnasts 16 and older. Kerber also qualified to be one of two rhythmic gymnasts to represent the United States at the World Championships in Kiev this August. Five NSR girls earned “elite” status, finishing in the top 12 among juniors (gymnasts 15 and younger) and seniors (gymnasts 16 and older). Like Zeng and Kerber, NSR’s Camilla Feeley earned a spot on the national team. Evita Griskenas and Natalie Bourand advanced to the junior finals, and junior Alexandra Ladan and senior Ksenya Masterova also competed in level 10 events Thursday and Friday. Karina Denisova became the national level 7 champion, and Dasha Boltovik won the team gold medal for level 9. The USA senior national group, which trains with NSR at the Sachs Center, performed at the U.S. Rhythmic Championships in preparation for the World Championships. Senior group members are Sharon Dassouli, Alyssa Kano, Natalie McGiffert, Jennifer Rokhman, Monica Rokhman, and Laura Tutunikov. Also at the championships: the USA junior national group, which includes NSR members Ella Nikerina and Liza Merenzon. "We are so proud of our girls,” say NSR co-owners and coaches Natasha Klimouk and Dani Takova. Photos courtesy of Su Metzel (mother of former NSR gymnast and former USA
